East Care After Three Inc.
East Care After Three (ECAT) Incorporated is an OSCAR (Out of School Care and Recreation) Approved childcare provider. The term “East Care” refers to the Eastern Suburbs of Wellington and “After Three” refers to our After School Programme that operates most days of the school term “after 3.00pm”.
ECAT is governed by our very own ECAT Parents with the goal of providing the most vibrant childcare programme for our Peninsula community. ECAT was first established as an After School Programme for schools within the Peninsula. With high demand of childcare over the school holidays, ECAT decided to also provide Holiday Programmes every school holidays.
ECAT have been running for over a decade based at the Miramar Community Centre (27 Chelsea St, Miramar Wellington), and the services are primarily for our Peninsula community but during school holidays we are open to all.
Our After School Programme can hold up to 60 children per day with our ratio policy of 1:10 - one staff to 10 children. Our Holiday Programme can hold up to 60 children per day with staff ratio for onsite activities 1:10, and for trip day activities ratio is 1:8. Activities that involve water such as swimming we have a ratio policy of 1:6.
